The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Armenia is the only regular, sovereign and recognized Masonic authority on the territory of the Republic of Armenia.Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. Members are expected to be of high moral standing. It teaches and stands for the worship of God; truth and justice; fraternity and philanthropy; enlightenment and orderly liberty, civil, religious and intellectual. It charges each of its members to be true and loyal to the government of the country to which we owe allegiance and to be obedient to the law of any in which we may be.
Freemasonry instils in its members a moral and ethical approach to life: its values are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Members are urged to regard the interests of the family as paramount but, importantly, Freemasonry also teaches concern for people, care for the less fortunate and help for those in need.
On the historical day of July 30, 2002 in the capital city of Yerevan, Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Armenia was ceremoniously consecrated by the Grand Lodge of Washington DC, the Grande Loge Nationale Française and the Grand Lodge of Russia. It was witnessed by the Grand Lodge of Romania and the Grande Oriente D’Italia. Today, our Grand Lodge has grown from three to eight lodges, and a lodge of instruction, working in Armenia and two lodges working in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Grand Lodge of Armenia is in amity with over 63 Grand Lodges, and is well respected in the universal Masonic community.

The earliest recorded reference to Armenian Freemasonry is when a certain “Dr Dionysius Manasse was appointed Provincial Grand Master of Armenia by the M.W. Grand Master Earl Ferrers in 1764, under the English Constitution.”
In May 2001, a World Conference of the Armenian Brethren was convened in Washington DC. This conference gathered Armenian Masons from France, U.K., Russia, Argentina, Lebanon and the USA. After extensive discussions with the governmental authorities in Armenia, the necessary legal documents were approved and obtained; The Grand Lodge of Armenia was formally registered in Armenia.
